Meaningful Relationships

Volunteers are the heart of REP. It's a truly rewarding opportunity for those who want to contribute in their community, doing something important. The relationships built within the programme are very special. The volunteers form warm, meaningful relationships with their students, and enjoy the company of the other members of the team. For many, it's the highlight of their week.

REP mentors love doing something that benefits others, the one-to-one time with students, and the smiles. The learning goes both ways! The volunteers are as enriched by the interactions as the students are.

Team Mentoring is Easy and Friendly!

REP has a strong team ethos which gives flexibility and back up for time away – no one is asked to do too much.

No planning needed

Schools provide SRA readers which have inbuilt texts and questions. REP volunteers can just show up to the sessions, knowing the resources are already there.

Simple & Straightforward

The readers are easy to use. All that is needed is commitment and genuine interest in young people.

Varied & Interesting

The reading topics are varied and interesting, and form a great springboard for fun and stimulating conversation to flow from.

Become a REP Coordinator

Each programme is incomplete without a key superstar, also known as the volunteer tutor coordinator!

The coordinator plays a crucial role – they are the person in liaison with the school and local Rotary club. They work with the Rotary club to find and recruit volunteers from local communities.

Once the programme is underway, the coordinator continues to play a key role, supporting the team and helping the sessions to run smoothly.

"Nothing that I had done prior came close to  providing  the interest and satisfaction  that I enjoyed as a REP coordinator"      – Nigel, REP Coordinator / Superstar
